About Stuart Lennie Carpentry

Present and Philosphy

Our aim is to provide a quality carpentry and cabinet making service at an affordable cost, without having to pass on the extra expenses of a larger company, such as showroom costs & sales staff. Our goal is to provide a reliable personal service, which is tailored to the requirements of the individual client.

We are committed to using certified timbers from sustainable sources, as far as possible, and we avoid using toxic products in all finishes and paintwork.

Our policy is to be clear and open with all customers, with no hidden extras on the final bill. We stand by our word and reputation. If you would like to hear about what others think about our work please visit our case studies page.

With a wealth of over 30 years experience Stuart Lennie has been producing cabinet work and fine carpentry in a variety of settings.

Before moving to the Cotswolds, Stuart worked with an innovative design company in London, where he made individual pieces of furniture and prototype design models for retail outlets such as Oasis, Warehouse, Jane Churchill & Jeff Banks. In addition to this work, he undertook commissions for custom made cabinet work for individual clients and others such as the V & A.

He has designed a range of toys, mainly Noah's arks and doll's houses, which won awards from the British Toymaker's Guild (Best Newcomer and Marjorie Abbatt Award for Playability twice). One of his doll's houses was displayed at the Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood (part of the V & A) and one was also featured in the Daily Telegraph.

He now chiefly concentrates on interior work, which includes kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, staircases etc in locations varying from country cottages to town houses, amongst other projects.

Our Process

Develop a thorough understanding of your requirements for your project. We want to talk to you about what styles you like, any inspiration you may have.

Construct a framework for your project to take shape within in terms of strategy, production and time. We work through any issues taking into account your desired style & room size.

Present purposeful designs that reflect your objectives and outline the final project aesthetic. We love designing beautiful furniture, leaving clients with results which exceed expectations.

Once we have designed and you have agreed your project we’ll develop the piece using only the finest woods and craftsmanship. We take pride in this stage as its a critical stage of the project.

After we have developed the piece we’ll either deliver it personally to your location or put the finishing touches to the project. This could be a finish like varnish or simply bolting it into place.
